Week 43 - Conway

Soooooooooo. . .  I'm tired and I just played gator ball. Soooooo. . This email may or may not be purdy short.

First off. Shout out to my sis. It was her birthday yesterday. Happy Birthday Emily!

Second. . . It was sweeet. The Nashville tribute band came and it was sick. Our stake flew in this band that plays a bunch of LDS country type music. I'm not usually a huge fan of country but they did a fantastic job! It was soooo cool, they loved missionaries and before the show they pulled us aside and we said a prayer with them. Their performance was really neat and invited the spirit. Then they called up all the missionarys and sang this amazing mission tribute song called "Hardest Thing". It was such an amazing experience.

OUR INVESTIGATORS CAME TO CHURCH!

Jennifer and Julian came to church yesterday. I've been working with these guys for the last 4 months and they FINALLY came to church! It was AMAZING. Julian loved it and we're excited for them. Both of them are on date, so keep praying for them.

I also played Catan. I chose blue because Hannah's at BYU and I needed some of her Catan spirit power.  It worked for one game but not the other.

I also got a huge burrito from Tijuana flats. It was amazing. I love Tijuana.

Alright so the spiritual moment of the week. . . I was walking along the streets and I was talking about the first vision and how it must of been to be in Joseph's point of view. To first look at Christ feet, then to look up to his hands, then to see the face of Heavenly Father and Christ. Then an overwhelming feeling circled around me and I could feel the spirit so strong as the spirit testified of the truthfulness of these things. Along with the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and Thomas S. Monson. It was so neat. I love this gospel. And I love this church.

I love you guys thank you so much for the prayers and I hope you all have a terrific week.

Week 42 - Conway

Hello my wooooonderful support group of home!

This week has been purty slow. Not gonna lie. But it's been a good week and that's what matters. Sooooooo. . . What happened. Well  we dropped like everyone from our teaching pool. But we've seen some neat mimicked from it. Sooooo. . . We're finding. . . Like every day. Like all day, every day! It's so. much. fun!

One day we were bikin around and we saw this guy in his 20s walking around we asked him how he was doing and he said that he was sad. We. . Ummm. . We were a little alarmed by his response. We really weren't expecting an answer like that. Usually it I'm good or well. But this guy was truely sad. So. . . We asked him, "Well could we tell ya a joke" we went up to him and said. "What did the fish say when he ran into the wall.. . . .?" . . . "DAM" hahahahahhahahaha. I almost died laughing and so did he so I then asked. "What did the dam say back?" . . . "Dumb bass" hahahahaha. It was awesome and we totally made this guys day. He then proceeded to say that he broke up with his girlfriend just hours before and that he was quite sad and the joke really helped. We then somehow tied together a fish joke to the gospel and taught him he restoration. Giving him a Book of Mormon and getting his contact info. It was awesome. If someone gets baptized because of that joke I'll be sooooooo incredibly happy!

So. . . Pete the onion died! It was tragic. We talked to the less active that we got Pete from and he handed us a new onion. . . He told us his name is Re-Pete. I was laughing soooo hard.

This past week we went to Jeremiah's with the other elders in the ward it was sick!

Alright here's your spiritual moment from Orlando alright :
Yesterday we went into a gators house. They've been really flakey on us and we've been teaching them off and on for 6 months. They have had a date before but they have NEVER been to church. It's hard to get baptized in a church you've never been to before. So my companion prayed and said that we are gonna stress the importance of church attendance and commit them to coming to church. And if they don't come then we're dropping them. Long story short we had an awesome lesson were we talked all about baptism and we really stressed the importance of the sacrament. We then read from 2 Nephi 31. The spirit was so strong while we testified. Needless to say they want to come to church on Sunday.

I love giving priesthood blessings. They are the best part of the mission in my opinion.

I love you guys so much I hope you all have a wonderful week. I'm so grateful as always for all the many emails and letters. Thanks for rooting me on!

Week 41 - Conway

Hello.

There will be NO voice recording this week.

Nor will there be one next week.

Or the week after that.

Because voice recordings have been banned.

I am sorry for the depressing reality.

I know I'm not too thrilled about this either.

Thank you.

So. . . Since I cannot voice record, and I hate typing with a passion, you will be receiving substantially less information on how my life is.

Anyways with all that crap out of the way. Let's dive into the miracles that happened this week. (Insert smiling face here)

So. . . This week. I got waved at by a nice member. Hahaha. (Sarcastic laugh). So were stopped at a street light, and a car does a polite honk at us. A lot of members honk at us while we're on our bikes and usually it's very encouraging. But when I tried to look into the car to see who it was. A guy flipped us off. Hahaha. I started laughing soooo hard. I always wondered how I would react to rejection. And I guess I just laugh it off. Hahahaha. Anyways let's talk about the spiritual stuff

So let's first talk about my companion, Elder Chatterton, his a beast! He's really cool. I haven't gotten along with a companion this well since I served with Cortez. He's such a funny dude. Sometimes we just have spontaneous light saber battles. Man I sound like I'm 5. I play with Pokemon cards, and I have light saber battles. I'm pretty sure the mission is making me less mature. Hahaha. Anyways he's a great companion and I've really enjoyed my time with him so far.

This last week was the ward talent show. So I got voluntold that I would be doing some magic and after some scrambling around and a package full of magic. I decided to preform the linking rings. So I practiced a little bit, and just kinda went for it. And. . . When you don't practice magic. . Your bound to mess up and give away the trick. But. . It actually turned out ok. I have a few pictures below. And I had a lot of compliments. Everything actually went pretty smoothly. And I fooled a few parents. But it was nice to participate in the ward activity.

This week was a great week for finding. We have talked to a lot of people and the work is actually starting to pick up. The church building is far away so it's rough for our investigators to get to church. It's annoying how far away the church is. I fact the hardest thing to do is to get our gators to church.

We're planning on setting 5 people on date this week if you could please pray for Julian, Jennifer, Carlos, Jered, & Sharon.

Anyways I love you guys and I hope you all have a terrific week!
