Week 9 - Belleview

Sooooo.... Yeah I am completely positive I am stuck in a soap opera. And I'm playing the role as "missionary 2". No but really I can't believe that this is real life. Let me tell you about my week and you can judge if I could classify as a new hit reality tv show. So this past week one of our progressing investigators went to jail. For pulling a knife on his wife. The wife is currently pregnant with a baby that she isn't 100% sure who the father is. But she came to church this past Sunday so that's good. Another girl that we are teaching is lesbian and she got in a fistfight with her mom this past week. Her mom just got out of rehab and things have settled down a little bit. Oh. And yea after all of this... A hurricane is supposed to hit Florida this week. Yep. I can't believe my life either. But it keeps you on your toes. 😆

But on the bright side of things we went to the temple with an (investi)gator for a temple tour. It was amazing. Our gator really enjoyed the temple and could really feel the spirt as we walked around and talked about it. As we left our gator told us "you know what.. Maybe I'll let you baptize me" and we said "why just maybe" and she said "because I really want to go inside." I now have a new appreciation for the spirit the resides in the temple.

While we're on the topic of temples... We have this awesome recent convert that has special needs and he loves minecraft. Soooo..... He created a temple in minecraft. It has been great to see the progress that he's made as we come over. I always Look forward to going over there each week to see what part of the temple he's worked on. I really enjoy teaching about the temple though minecraft who knew that minecraft would be such a great teacher. Hahaha

Another great thing that happened this week is that we had ten investigators/less actives come to church yesterday. It was awesome and also overwhelming. The ward is also pretty cool because every 5th Sunday they have a linger longer lunch. It's pretty much a potluck lunch after church. But it was nice. It reminded me a lot about the potluck socials we would have in Kansas.

SPIDERS. So it's been a popular question from home... How big are banana spiders.... So I included one down below. And if you can't judge the size of the spider... Let's just say that the little spider next to it is just over the size of a quarter. #Arachnophobia Hahahaha. Oh and as you might of noticed the lizard counter spiked from 58 to 81... Yeah I saw like 15 lizards at the temple this last week. It was crazy. So....I guess they love to see the temple too.

Oh and that hurricane..... Yea it's pretty much dead by now which stinks. My companion and I wanted to make t-shirts that said. I survived hurricane Erica. Sooo... Yeah. That's a thing. But I guess we get more rain.... Wahoo..  Oh.... Yes so we serve in Ocala as well which is like the ghetto of my zone soooo.... We see a lot of interesting pimped out prices of trash.... Everything from old buicks to vans and trucks. So.... I included a picture down below of a sweet truck. Hahaha

Oh sweet video of the week.... Lift. If you haven't seen the music video lift..... Do it. I love it.... Just watch it. We show this video a lot to members whenever they feed us. I love the message about service and the message invites a nice spirit into the home. Soooo go check it out.

Anyways If you read this WHOLE thing then I'm proud. Wow like its a novel. This one was big. But I'd like to say thank you. Thanks for showing an interest into the life of Elder Coley. As always I absolutely love your great letters and emails. They really comfort me when I'm down. Thanks for everything!

Love,

Week 8 - Belleview

Stake conference was sick, yo. 😆

Haha wow that's one one way to start an email. No but really stake conference was very interesting and I loved it. When I was home I always mourned at stake conference. I always thought that the people who were speaking were old and the talked..... Super.... Slowly... But I really enjoyed this stake conference. It was really cool because Elder Nielson of the quorum of the seventy came down to speak to us. He was a really good speaker and I really enjoyed hearing from him. I also had the opportunity to hear from my mission president as well as his wife. It was interesting to hear what they had to talk about. I feel like everything on Sunday is related to marriage and families ever since the whole gay marriage thing went down. Every talk, every lesson in priesthood, the things in the Ensign. They're all revolving around the subject of marriage. It should be interesting to here from the prophets this coming General Conference. But I really enjoy hearing about this subject and since I've been out here it's really made me think about the qualities that I want in a future wife. I feel like I have more of an idea of who I want to become post mission.

This is also the end of my first 6 weeks that means the next wave of missionaries come in....... Soooooo.... What does this mean!!! I won't be the youngest in the mission!!! It's funny because our entire district is going to be made up of trainers and trainees. So that should be fun. We also had interviews with the president this last week. I really enjoy getting to know my mission president, he's a great guy. He gives me great counsel as well he's helped me with a lot of my concerns, along with the help of my companion.

I'm super excited for this week! We have a temple tour planed with one of our investigators and her mom who is a recent convert so I'm looking forward to showing them around the temple grounds.

Sooooo... Music. Yea, so I enjoy listening to music when I start my day and there's like no music that I could find to listen to and hymns get old pretty quickly sooooooo. I found music on the Lds.org youth page and down below its a good one or at least I think it is. My standards have really dropped off hahahaha. Well I need to go so, I love you all thanks for the support your emails really do make my day. Thank you 😄
I love you guys,

Love,
