Week 7 - Belleview

Sooooooo, we started off the week with exchanges which I don't enjoy. But once that was over I came home to Bellevue and had a wonderful experience. 😆 We went up to a house and my trainer said alright "Your sharing the Mormon message". And I really didn't have time to ponder the entire list of videos so I thought well.. Mountains to Climb is a good one. And we walked right in. Once we talked to the lady we found out that she had a overwhelming sickness. She had been going though some rough trials and she was glad to see us. I knew this Mormon message was for her. After we shared it the lady was in tears. She really connected with the video along with the spirit. She was overwhelmed with the spirit comforting her that everything was going to be okay. After we shared this message she asked for a blessing and as we left her husband thanked us for stopping by. I know that the spirit lead my mind to think of a certain video. It's amazing how the spirit works. While I've been on a mission I've thought I wonder if these are my thoughts or is it the Holy Ghost prompting me to share. And really it doesn't matter. As long as we act on our uplifting thoughts while we serve others. We will make a difference in someone's day.

Half way though the week my companion got sick so we stayed home the full day. It felt weird but it's gonna save us on miles. So as he slept I got caught up with writing letters. Shining my shoes and building Legos. I also read the August ensign which is really good. I've never read an ensign before but it was quite up lifting. My favorite articles were: Mission or Money?, Patience: More Than Waiting, The Power of Home Teaching, Going to Dad’s Rescue, My Iron Rod if you have time I'd recommend reading all of them but especially my iron rod. Especially if you are starting college. While I was searching on lds.org I found a really good song. It's a music video named fragile. I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching it. (it's down below.) It's a great efy song. Go watch it.

Our investigators are really coming along. We have 4 on date for baptism. And three are progressing really well. I love missionary work, although it is tough. One of our gators only speaks Spanish. It's hard to communicate but I know that he feels the spirit when we're over. And I know that the Holy Ghost is ultimately the true teacher. This past week we brought in a Spanish speaking elder and he taught to him. He loved it. Although I didn't have any idea on what they were saying. I felt the spirit and that what matters. I enjoying seeing the effect that the gospel has on a persons life. I also enjoy letter from friends and family. Emails are great too. I love you guys. Thanks for taking the time to read this I know it must be long and obnoxious to read because of all the spelling/grammar errors. But thank you. And I love you guys. 😄😊😄

Week 6 - Belleview

Exciting week I guess. I went to the dentist. Went on exchanges 😝. And got a haircut.

Wow. My life sounds incredibly boring. But believe me it was awesome in the eyes of Elder Coley.
The dentist was nice or as nice as it could be. I mean..... Dentist. But then I had to go on exchanges and..... I found out I don't like those. You go to a completely new area with a complete different companion. Yea. I don't enjoy that. I like knowing where exactly I am and knowing the person that I'm with. But it was only for two days. And since we were both greenies I had to drive since I had a better driving record. That wasn't to fun either. But whatever I'm back in my own area. And exchanges really made me grateful for the wonderful area and people that I have. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve in Belleview.

We now have 4 on date for baptism here. I love it and the investigators are so close to becoming members. I enjoy teaching. Mormon messages are soooo useful. We share one almost every lesson. We love the one called Reaching Out Though Love. We share it at every dinner we go to. Go watch it down below. I enjoy testifying of Christ and helping others improve. It's the best feeling in the world when you leave a house and you know that the spirit changed their day. I love this church and the comfort that it gives to people.

But if there's one thing that makes me uncomfortable it's stinking banana spiders. Oh my goodness. There huge. There as big as my hand and every house in Florida has one on there front porch just chillin. I also saw a little black garden snake. Still scared the crap out of me. But yea snakes are a thing. Yea I got nowhere near that house. I got my hair cut this week which is crazy. I have pictures below and I want your honest opinion if you like it or not. I got it cut by a member and she asked me what are we gonna do to your hair and I told her I've had the same hair cut for the last 5 years what do you think I could pull off? She said if I comb my hair over to the side it could look nice so I told her to go for it. Halfway though it I saw her trimming my hair really short and I was wondering... Is... Is she giving me a skin fade?  Well if she is its too late now. So she did it and I have mixed feelings about it so if you comment back on it I'd appreciate it. 😆😃

Well to end on a spiritual note. I went tracking for the first time this week and the first door we knocked was a Jehovah's witnesses.... Sooo that's funny. We were expecting her to wail on us but she was polite and let us go without a scolding. Then the next few houses we knocked on the people weren't home. Then we talked to this lady and her five children about who we are and that we go around sharing messages of Christ. We then show them the Mormon message "because of him"  then we share the Book of Mormon and we challenge them to read 3 nephi 11 and the promise in Moroni 10. We shared this message with two women. They said they were both gonna read and we would get back to them this week. It's amazing how the spirit resides in righteous movies and music. Mormon messages are a huge help. I love them. You know who else I love. I love you guys for reading these long boring things thank you. It means so much to me when people email me and send me awesome letters. I feel so blessed to have such great family and friends. Thank you. 😄

Week 5 - Belleview

Yeah so this week has been weird. It has flown by. We had a fun Pioneer Day event this past week which was fun. It was all about pioneers, family history and temple work. I was in charge of leading a group from station to station. Overall it was a good experience and I feel like our investigators enjoyed it.

We got another baptismal date, which puts us up to 3 with one still pending because he only speaks Spanish. So that makes me very happy. I'm so grateful that I could stay so busy while I've been out here.

The highlight of the week by far was meeting with this one investigator. It was our second time back. And she's really interested in the gospel. We went inside her house and she was completely stressed out because her husband had some medical issues. It had been a long day for her and really the rest of our LARC's and investigators too. It was cool because we completely ditched our plan to share the restoration lesson and we talked about prayer and how to cope with stress. We shared the Mormon message "Mountains to Climb" which I have included down below. I love this Mormon message and the spirit that it brings. If you have time to watch it I'd highly recommend it. After we shared that video she started to cry it was the first time she had felt peace in her house in a while and she was great full for that. We then talked about the priesthood and gave both her and her husband a blessing it was a remarkable experience. It's amazing how you go into a lesson expecting to share a certain message but the spirit directs you in a completely different direction. I felt the spirit so strongly as it taught us and her about the gospel. I absolutely love this church and the peace that it gives to me and to others. The atonement can truly change lives. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to spread the gospel to all the world.

I love you all very much. Your emails and letters mean the world to me. I feels like whenever I'm down the most at the end of the day, I always get an email from a beloved friend or family member. So I would love to thank everyone for the difference they've made in my life this last month. Thank you. 😃😆
